Wickham Glen between Eastville Park and Snuff Mills in the Forest of Avon, Greater Fishponds Section. Join our local Kingswood Ramblers kingswoodramblers.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk or Bristol Ramblers bristolramblers.org.uk Keep up to date with the Snuff Mills Action Group and help protect the area: snuffmills.blogspot.com The Bristol to Bath Railway Path offers a wonderful walking experience bristolbathrailwaypath.org.uk and you can access the path all along the Fishponds stretch at various locations from Ridgeway Road up to The Staple Hill Tunnel. However the path is equally designed for cyclists as well so please be careful and considerate. There are other routes in the area as well, see the library page here and read about The Dramway, an excellent and flat walk bristolbathrailwaypath.org.uk/library.asp Both of these flagship trails make up part of and go beyond the Forest of Avon circular path forestofavon.org.uk which offers 45 miles of trail.

The group returned to Fishponds after a wonderful morning in the Frome Valley for food and drinks... a wonderful group made up of lots of people from various backgrounds. New members are very welcome. Hillfields to Begbrook Route This is a very enjoyable and scenic route. From the top of Hillfields Park, walk through the park to Beechen Drive, at the bottom turn left and walk to Forest Road. Go over the Railway Path using the bridge and then take the 2nd left (Radley Road). At the bottom use the crossing and cross the Straights Parade, then walk down Oldbury Court Road. |

Greater Fishponds is a beautiful area which is steeped in history and built on woodland which was popular with Kings for over 1000 years. Today the area offers a cosmopolitan experience, connected by urban areas which are fairly modern in some parts to St George and Stapleton which are very historic areas with miles of open spaces, accessible to a range of wonderful pubs and a range of district centres.
