Through our local library services which are connected with Banes, South Gloucestershire, Bristol and Somerset Councils you can hire DVD's and Video's for just £1 a week. (please note these aren't available at Hillfields library but they are at our other libraries). You can use computers with internet access for up to 2 hours every day; read daily newspapers and weekly magazines; borrow books and if the library doesn't have the book that you require, just ask a librarian and they will order this in for you - however please note that reservations arrive about a week after they are made. There is a reservation fee; to get the fee half price, customers can reserve online at librarieswest.org.uk, as well as renew books and lots of other options are available.
Hillfields library is open four days a week: Bristol Adult Learning Service offers over 900 courses in their own courses directory to serve people in our local communities with short courses akso offered by large colleges. For full details visit: bristol.gov.uk/adultlearning Staple Hill Library is located along from the square shopping area opposite Tesco and Cooperative; Downend Library is set beyond the Horseshoe Pub in Buckingham Gardens adjoining the health clinic. Fishponds Library is opposite Morrisons on Fishponds Road (near to the Currys and Focus turning) and Kingswood Library is near to Kingswood Park on Regent Street. If you live near to the St George/Speedwell end of Whitefield Road then St George Library is near the top of Plummer's Hill or take a pleasant walk through St George Park. For people living close to Eastville there is a library half way along Muller Road.
