Dear All Following a Cabinet decision on 26th January 2012, to refer sites proposed as surplus to parks requirements to Neighbourhood Committees across the city, I am writing to remind you all that the Greater Fishponds Neighbourhood Committee will be making decision on the future of the sites shown below at the Neighbourhood Partnership meeting scheduled for 7pm on Thursday 22nd March 2012. The Neighbourhood Committee members are the elected members from Eastville, Frome Vale and Hillfields wards and will make the final decision. Bracey Drive Open Space in Frome Vale Part of Duchess Way Open Space in Eastville Lodge Hill Open Space in Hillfields If you wish to comment or express your view at the Neighbourhood Partnership meeting, you can do so by making a formal Public Forum statement. The statement will be read out before the relevant agenda item. So far we have received 3 Public Forum statements relating to these sites. It is best for Public Forum statements be read out by the person raising the matter. However, if you are unable to attend the meeting it will be read out by the Democratic Service Officer, who is the Neighbourhood Committee Clerk. If you wish to make a Public Forum statement, you will need to send it in writing addressed to the Neighbourhood Committee. It is advisable to outline reasons for supporting or opposing the proposal and may relate to all of the sites or to those, which concerns you the most. Ideally your statement should not exceed 2 sides of A4. Statements have to be with the Democratic Service Officer responsible for Greater Fishponds Neighbourhood Committee, Richard Jones, 0117 922 2386, by email to Richard.jones@bristol.gov.uk by 12 noon on the day before the meeting, i.e. by 12noon on Wednesday 21st March 2012. or you can send it by post to Room 220, Floor 2, Council House, College Green, Bristol, BS1 5TR, After hearing all the Public Forum statements and discussing the sites in question at the meeting, it is hoped the Neighbourhood Committee will deliver their decision. Please feel free to share this with other residents from your neighbourhood. Regards Abdul Razak Dahir

New access path needed here. Dangerous and used by people of all ages and abilities.
People can hit their heads and slip. If this happens at night it could be several hours before they are found.
The only access point without going right out of their way.
Fencing needs spraying to freshen it up.

Listing artwork on buildings - by Steve Comer Cllr for Eastville Ward in Greater Fishponds For a while I've had a concern that there was no listing of art on buildings that people consider of value. We had a reminder of this with the accidental painting of a Banksy piece in Eastville banksy.co.uk. I think it would be a good idea for Neighbourhood Forum's to identify such art, and put it on a register. I'm copying the press release I've sent out on this topic. Although this refers to public art, it could also apply to stone signs, old adverts etc. on buildings. Steve Comer Return to the Top of this Page
